Matthew Duarte is a partner in Davis Wojcik Duarte, APLC. Mr. Duarte has extensive experience in a variety of legal matters and has utilized his unique skills and expertise to represent both corporate and individual clients alike. Recently, he has represented clients in large-scale real estate disputes, complex employment law cases, and multi-million dollar business litigation. In addition, his experience in criminal law has led to successful representation in cases ranging from misdemeanor crimes to felony “strike” complaints. Mr. Duarte has appeared in court in over 20 counties in the State of California and has also argued before the California Court of Appeal. He is admitted to practice in the State of California and before the Central, Eastern, Northern and Southern Districts of California.
An alumni of Arizona State University, Mr. Duarte was awarded a full scholarship to attend the University and graduated cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and a certificate in International Relations. After his undergraduate studies, he received his juris doctorate from California Western School of Law in San Diego where he was a member of the Pro Bono Honors Society and a Dean’s Merit Scholarship recipient. In law school, Mr. Duarte also clerked at the renowned criminal defense organization, the California Innocence Project, working to further its mission of exonerating the wrongfully imprisoned. Additionally, he also served as a law clerk for the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program as well as for the general counsel of the San Diego Unified School District. Soon after his admission to the California Bar, Mr. Duarte joined a large national firm specializing in mortgage defense and real estate transactions where he represented such institutional clients as J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, Bank of America, and Wells Fargo.
Mr. Duarte currently serves as President of the Board of Directors for Valley-Wide Recreation and Park District and as a member of the Governing Board of Directors for Santa Rosa Academy in Menifee. Additionally, Mr. Duarte is a member and Past President of the Hemet-San Jacinto Chapter of the National Exchange Club, a member and Past President of Mt. San Jacinto/Hemet Bar Association, a Barrister in the Southwest Inns of Court, and a member of the Riverside County Bar Association.
Mr. Duarte has been married to his wife, Cody, for over 10 years and they have three children.
